Carnival Station 8: Dingle

Setup

Four players at the kitchen line, 2v2. Two balls in play at the same time: the two players on the right sides dink together, and the two on the left sides dink together.

Drill Instructions

Both balls start together as straight-ahead dinks. When one ball is lost and only one ball remains, players call "DINGLE!" — that is the signal that the point is now live 2v2 and any shot is allowed. Games to 5. Switch partners after each game and keep track of your own individual points for an end total.

Goal

Score = your individual points across the games you played. Log it as "11 points".

Make It Easier

Start with one ball and call DINGLE after four dinks.

Coach Tip

Eyes on your own ball until the DINGLE call. After the call, get your paddle up — the speed-up is coming.

Make It Harder

Both balls start cross-court, and the DINGLE point must be won at the kitchen line.
